My brother is working in USA and will be sponsoring me for studies. How do I get an affidavit ? How is it done is usa? Will a letter signed by him suffice instead of affidavit?

Question on Affidavit for financial sponsorship under SDS?

If you apply under SDS, 1 year tution fees receipts and GIC with minimum 10000 CAD are sufficient and must for financial support. Sponsorship letter will go under non SDS and unluckily calling for more trouble. Keep it simple. In my case personally, I had my savings in bank account and with a sponsorship. But EOD, they requested for GIC and I applied under non-sds due to sponsorship.

Thanks for responding. I am including 1st year tuition receipt(34000 cad for 12 months) and 10000 gic and am trying to show financial support letter for the remaining 4 months of my study. I have my bank savings as well.

That's sufficient.. do not add any extra unless requested by them and fall for any questions. These are the primary financial requirement for SDS. Go through the checklist provided by ircc for SDS candidates, fulfill the requirement. Pls do not add anything extra.
