Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Dears,

My employer has specific questions regarding filling AEO form on my behalf and i would appreciate your help.

1. "Details of Job Offer - Expected start date of Employment (yyyy-mm-dd)" What should he write in this field? since we don't know when the PR will be ready!

2. "Salary (in Canadian dollars)", does he need to fill the salary per hour, per day, per month, per year, or is it enough to say (for example $50,000 per year)?

3. "Number of hours", dose he need to specify Number of hours per day and per week and per month? or is it enough to say (for example 40 hours per month)?

Many thanks for your help.

I got AEO last year, I am no expert but I will share my experince.

1. My employer put about 8 months later from the date of application.
AEO is valid for quite long time after aporoval by HRSDC, I think it was about 2years or more, so don't worry.
CIC will contact you once again during the immigration process if the job offer is still valid anyways.

2. I put the yearly amount. Based on caculation : 40hours a week, 52 weeks a year.
But you better calculate the salary properly. But I heard that you need to check what are the average salary of your position in the location you would like to work. The average salary is reported in the somewhere in HRSDC website every year.

3. We put as '40 hours a week'. '30 hours week' is the minimum hours for applying AEO, LMO but some consultants told me the 37.5 hours a week to 40 hours a week is safe.

TIP:
Try to be very speicific for the job duty. I put something pretty general, they questioned about it cause it was too general description, didnt look very genuine. Try to describe exactly what your employer will ask you to do daily.

Hi mmh771,

1- our employer wrote a validationdate on the application, something like:
"This joboffer is valid till november 2011."
2- Yes, you need to write down the yearly amount of your salary. But like disco1004 wrote, be aware of the average salary that is set up by HRSDC!
If your salary will be much lower than they will reject your AEO!
3- Your job needs to be a full-time joboffer for 40 hours a week.

And, your AEO will be valid only for ONE year at the moment, so keep that in mind when applying for your visa!

Good luck!

Regards,
Louise!

Disco1004/Louise-01,

Many thanks for sharing your experience with me, but regarding the job description, can my employer provide additional sheet to describe my duties, since the form has a limited number of entries?

Thanks.

P.S. My employer suggested if i can come to Canada in a visit visa, then he would file an AEO to service Canada while i am in Canada, do you think this is possible? can i change my visa from visit Visa to work permit while i am there?

Hi,

I think that's will not be a problem to write more info on a additional paper.
If you havent got enough room to write it will be the only option!

Be aware if you are going on a visit visa you are NOT allowed work for you employer....
If he wants you there asap, why didn't he apply for an LMO in the first place?....
There was another member on this topic who went to Canada while waiting for her AEO, and when she was there for a few months HRSDC didn't gave her the AEO approval.
So, you better think twice before taking this step...
It will not help you to get your approval sooner!
Good luck with making the best decision! ;)

Regards,
Louise!

Louise,

Applying for an LMO insted of AEO was our first choice, but since applying for an LMO takes a lot of steps from the employer like advertising on the newspaper, prove that he didn't find a candidate locally, i think AEO is better in my case!

in AEO employer has to demonstrate that they tried to hire Canadian citizen through advertisements .(just like LMO)

because in AEO application form :- question 49 is :

49. Have you attempted to recruit Canadian citizens/permanent residents for this job?

if yes explain , how?
if no explain ?

54. Please explain how the foreign national was offered the job ?

similar there are 3 more questions .
