Hi, I am not sure if anywhere it is mentioned what are the obligations of an employer on issuing an AEO? The employer should be waiting for the vacancy to be filled up while CIC takes its on time to complete the assessment and visa issue. Is it binding on the employer to absorb the FSW who lands up after two or three years? Or is there a minimum period that the issuing company should employ the immigrant worker? While the process and application details are on the website nowhere could I find the employers obligation on issuing such AEO

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I don't think immigration with AEO takes 2-3 years, I think it takes more like a year but as far as I know, the employer has no obligation to hire you after you get PR and you have no obligation to work for him. It just has to be a genuine job offer at the time it's given.

Even companies that bring in temporary foreign workers on LMO whose work permit is tied to that employer are not obligated to keep them employed. If they don't need them, they can lay them off. There was one case on here of a couple who came to Canada on the husbands temporary work permit and he never even started working. By the time they came to Canada the company did not need him anymore.
