Well the forum is flooded with discussion on other universities. There are few discussions related to U Manitoba. That's why I quickly joined this discussion when I saw the topic. So I guess we should try for other universities. Btw, Any one of you from India?IKB said:

Most of my applications are under review... Got Rejection from Dalhousie. But i have got offer letter form Queen's uni though... (MEng: 1 year course).nikh941 said:
I am still waiting for other universities, sask, uvic and mun. which I am keeping on top priority. yes, btw one proff form uvic and one form sask have suggested me to proceed with application stating them as my supervisor. (They will see my final application and if eligible they will accept me).
None of the proff have agreed to provide funding. but for usask and uvic fees is bearable...

So, fortunately, there is nothing like pre-qualification form. And I have been to usask in a summer internship, so I was familiar with some professors there and this helped me...
But my frnds are in electrical, and I must say... application process is ridiculous... none of them have received the response (It is almost 2 months). they should, at least, give a refusal notification.
But anyways I am from India (PDPU, Gandhinagar)... And I can see many in this discussion also from india...
During my visit at usask I observed that they only know about IIT (and some time NIT). And almost all graduates from India were from IITs only.. I So unless you are from IIT (I dnt want to discourage you, in fact I am in the same boat), chances are quite low.
But still keep trying.. you may consider compromising with the area of interest (I did same), and you may get a supervisor...

Bro... I am not telling to give up... but yes keeping an backup is definitely a good idea. Most unis in ontario and so dont require supervisor. So apply in some to keep as backup.
Aacha... while we are at it... I would like to give a quick tip for those trying university of saskatechewan in elect.
I (along with my frnds of elect) meet one representative of usask during an education fair. Though she was managing undergraduate department (so info. Might not be completely reliable) but she gave us some advise that helped me...
She told that after you have completed pre-quali form you shall contact potential supervisor by email... stating "I have filled pre-qualification form. And I hope it has been circulated to you. I would like to discuss further regarding my interest to work under you....." you should discuss your academics and so...
I know it is wrriten on the site that you must wait for reply of pre-qualification form... so I wouldn't recommend what she said... but if you have waited 1-2 months... you can try this before giving up... mail a follow up email after 2 weeks...
