Advise needed on Wedding after COPR

Hi all,

I recieved my PPR mail on Dec 16, 2020. I'm a single applicant. My passports are yet to be picked up for stamping.

Since we have travel ban and given the fact winter will last until April, I plan to travel by may or June 2021.

**Important Question**
1. Please advise if I can get married after getting COPR but before landing. Is it advisable or will it cause any issue in re-issuing COPR apart from the time it will take?

I'm of the opinion that sponsoring the partner is more time consuming and tedious than the time it takes to add Spouse after COPR.

Pls advise, I'm too confused.

It's better to get married before landing. You will need to add your spouse and wait for a new PPR which will include both of you. Personally, I prefer this approach rather than spousal sponsorship later on.

It is for sure been instructed by IRCC to send them updates including marital status even after COPR.
The risk i see in your case that if they found out that you were married after COPR before landing you will be exposed to misrepresentation (i believe once you reach a port of entry you will be asked several verification questions) if so, not only you will not be able to sponsor a spouse, you might not be able to even land as an immigrant.

This can be As the "Finish Him" move in your waiting challenge combat.

You seriously need to ask Immigration lawyer or just send them the due updates or just marry after landing...... or citizen ship i mean if you plan to visit a restaurant why to carry food along :p just a joke : )

Good luck
