Hello

Please help I got married December 2018, and I am sponsoring my fife through OUTLAND from Nigeria.. My sponsorship package was received in Nova Scotia on April 11, 2018. As my wife is pregnant we are planning applying for Visitor Visa to come here to Canada through dual intent, or if we can convert to IN LAND after she got here if granted the Visitor Visa. Please advice.

No you would have to reapply. I would anticipate that getting a TRV will be very difficult. Depending on the province your wife may not have any health coverage and you would have to pay for her care.

you cannot switch to an inland... being pregnant does not speed anything up either... having a baby here can become very costly as well.. think about that... it is very likely that her TRV application will be denied.. just as an FYI.. good luck

In addition to what the other replies mentioned, your wife will also have to leave Canada if she was here to do her biometrics, which can become very difficult and hard on her if she is pregnant. It’s probably best to stick with your Outland app, it will be processed faster.

Also you and your wife will have to decide whether to go ahead with the chest X-Ray. Most doctors recommend that you wait until after delivery. This is a common scenario and the panel physician indicates that you will complete x-ray after delivery. The application will not be completed without the x-ray.

Thank you very much for all your advice...very useful.
Please do any one knows how long before I receive any form of letter or acknowledgement that my package have been received or show up on their system.

i would think as it has been more than a year you should have heard something by now.. if you meant 2019 then it is taking 3-12 weeks or more

Believe AOR is around 6-8 weeks. Did you pay for tracking to make sure your application was delivered? The whole process will take around 12 months but could be more especially if a relationship interview is required. There will be months where you hear nothing.

Sure I did pay for tracking and it was delivered April 11, 2019., thanks

Hi

I think "Dual Intent" itself means that you want to be in Canada permanently and want to visit temporarily too. You can check the below link.

https://www.canadavisa.com/immigration-canada-dual-intent.html#gs.634bxo

When the application of your wife is already being processed for family sponsorship and if your wife's temporary visa gets approved, why you need to re-apply? I think it needs to be updated that your wife's temporary resident visa got approved.

For me, it doesn't make sense. I will definitely dig more for this if I was you.

Because they applied outland and you cannot convert an application to inland. Some outland application require an interview that she would need to attend in her country of origin.
