Hello everyone,

Some help will be much appreciated. My mother in law was here last year on a visitor visa. She stayed just over 6 months and left, we had applied for the extension while she was here which is approved a couple of days ago. IRCC also asked for her medical to be done within 30 days. My concern is that she is expected to come back to Canada in 2 weeks. She has Visa valid until Dec 2025. Just hoping that she does not run into any issues! Not sure if the Medical can be done here ? Does she really needs it before she comes back again? It is impossible to speak with IRCC over the phone and too time constrained for a web form.

Does anyone has any experience.

Thank you,

Thank you,
If she stated past the 6 months she took advantage of the extension and will need to complete the medical. It is important to notify IRCC to when a person leaves Canada yet has an extension application in process. It is possible to do the medical in Canada or abroad. I would notify IRCC when your mother left Canada and when she is scheduled to return and explain that you hadn’t notified IRCC that she had left Canada while her extension application continued to get processed.

Thank you for the information. She will for sure do the medical. Since It is just 10 days from now when she is returning, I am concerned if she will run into any troubles at the airport. I did notify IRCC in October that she had left, but in February they replied saying I was not a rep to update the file but just to access the file. She has sent a webform making me the rep to do business on her behalf, I feel like they will not even acknowledge it this quick. I will be calling them tomorrow to see what they say, and hopefully can get through. We really need her here and just worrying now of her arrival.
