Hi,
I'm Canadian, sponsoring my wife (USA). We've been married 8 years and have a child so I expect there to be no issues regarding the application. We want to move to Canada this summer so our child can start school there in the fall, but the PR won't be approved by then given the current 12 month processing time estimates.
I've read in other posts that she can enter the country as a visitor without issue, then extend her visa (if necessary). But can she enter as a visitor at the same time that I am entering to resume residency? We'll be driving across country so will only have a car load of stuff with the remainder being shipped. She won't have a job in the USA, so how can we prove "substantial ties" aside from perhaps a plane ticket and leaving some goods at her parent's house?
Thanks for any info!
