Advice Needed: H1B Renewal in Toronto – Impact of Canada Post Strike

Hi all,

I have an H1B renewal consular appointment in Toronto on December 12th. I had opted for passport pickup through Canada Post (premium delivery to the nearest post office). However, with the ongoing Canada Post strike, I’m concerned about potential delays.

I’ve already emailed the consulate to request a change to home delivery since the online portal didn’t allow me to make the switch.

For those of you currently in a similar situation or who have experienced this recently:

Are you receiving passports via home delivery despite the strike?

Is there anything else I can do to ensure timely receipt of my passport?

Since I’m traveling from the U.S., I want to minimize delays as much as possible. Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

When I attended my interview at the Vancouver Consulate, there were instructions provided on How to update delivery service due to the Canada Post strike. There might be a similar thing for Toronto Consulate.
