hi guys,
i am new to this forum. i was planning to apply for Peng under either PEO or APEGA. I am an electrical engineer from India woth 6 years of experience in middile east. Now, after reading the posts in the forum, i am really confused. which one should I apply PEO or APEGA?
--Seniors please guide me, which province is better fro me to apply?
--Also what is the scope of getting a job in my field if don't have P Eng designation?
--is there any course I can do , patricularly in design electrical engineering field?
someone please help...
thanks
1 Years of canadian experience - that needs to be certified by a P Eng - is mandatory for applying

PEng Application - Need advice on work experience record.

Hi everybody,

I am starting my application to PEO, and I would like to have some help with the work experience record.
I would like to know if someone has a work experience record template that can share.
Besides that, there is someone willing to review my work experience form?

Hi Guys,

Just to update I received my P.Eng from APEGA last week.

All the best everyone.

Hi Jez.s009,
First of all Congratulation for this great achievement. Secondly, I would definitley need your valuable advise if you can help me out. I am not new here in Canada but new for applying P.Eng.

1- Which province should I apply ?
2- I have more than 2 years of Canadian work experience and total is more than 10 years but degrees are not from Canada so will I have to go through technical exams ?
3- Which province is more flexible and reluctant?

Your reply will be appreciated.

Hello everyone
I would appreciate if could be answered for one of my queries. I am a civil engr and a graduate from Pakistan. I recently obtained my skilled immigration and am planning to land in Ontario. I was thinking of intiiaitng my PEO licensing thing before i arrive, however, i have a little confusion.

I know PEO has set some rules for obtaining Peng accredtion. With a Pakistani undergrad degree, PEO is certain to assign comprehensive exams. My question is that how does a candidate becomes an EIT? I came to know that as soon as you apply at PEO and if they assign you comprehensive exams (roughly after 40 days of degree evaluation), you automatically becomes an EIT. Is it so? Mind it you haven't cleared any exams yet. With this EIT status, you can do engineering jobs but obviously not equivalent to Peng. This is my understanding but when i look at the BC licensing procedure, they write that in order to become an EIT, the candidate with a non CEAB undergrad degree needs to first clear the exams to academically become equivalent and then he will be given the EIT status. COuld anyone please guide on this.

Considering my case, if i initiate my license from Pakistan and after PEO processes my documents, they assign me comprehensive exams. Suppose i arrive 4 months after their deicision in Canada and as soon as i arrive, can i get the EIT status?

Hopefully i could answered for this confusion. Look forward to get some guidance.

Regards

You can get yourself enrolled into EIT with PEO after your academics have been assessed (without writing exams if CEP is also assigned). Normally, when CEP is assigned and you have more than 5 years of experience, you're given an opportunity to appear for an interview with the ERC of PEO. If you pass that, CEP is waived, otherwise, you have to write the confirmatory exams. In case you do have to write the conf. exams, you can still get yourself enrolled into EIT program.

I read this thread in full and trying to simplify my enquiry

Basically I have a BEng degree from UK and MSc degree from UK too and both are WES assessed. Canadian Equivalency of BEng degree is Bachelor's degree (four years), and of MSc degree is Master's degree. I have 2 years and 3 months of Intensive London-based work experience and considering that my 12-month postgraduate course does count towards my 48-month required experience does it mean that all I need is 12 months of acceptable engineering experience in a Canadian jurisdiction, under a licensed professional engineer (P.Eng.)? I mean do I (generally speaking) need any other exam other than the 3-hour PPE exam under the PEO P.Eng.? DO I need to sit any technical exams? I am a structural engineer and my NOC code is 2131.

Looking forward to your replies

I think that's correct. For details, you really should be looking at peo's website or contact them directly instead of asking here.

quick question regarding PEng application...
i applied at Alberta APEGA as a professional member, they assign me the FE and NPPE exam...can i apply to Saskatchewan APEGS too?

will they look at APEGA and say the same thing? anybody did that before? i don't want to loose 200 dollars just to find out the same thing..that i have to pass 2 exams.

thanks
