Dear Friends,

After checking the cic.gc.ca website, I understand that the simplified application process is not being used for skilled workers.

The following link states "Changes have been made to the way skilled worker applications are processed. As a result, applicants are now asked to submit a completed regular application (IMM 0008)"

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/immigrate/skilled/skilled-faq05.asp

The EG7.pdf document (IMM EG7000) at page 20 mentions that I need to send the things mentioned below directly to the CIU in Sydney, Nova Scotia Canada

Send the application forms,
• a photocopy of your passport’s bio-data page,
• 2 self-addressed mailing labels one in English or French and the second in the official language of your country, and
• the payment.

Note: Do not send other supporting documents.
Wait until you receive correspondence from the CIU in Sydney, Nova Scotia Canada
You must keep a copy of the forms before sending them to the CIU.

I will be extremely greatful if you could kindly answer the following questions for me. Thank you

1) Am I right to conclude that nowadays I cannot send my regular application to the visa office within my country. Instead I have to send my forms directly to the CIU in Sydney, Nova Scotia Canada, right?

2) Since I do not need to send any supporting documents along with my application forms, do you think it would be a good idea for me to send the application forms first or would you advise me to first take up IELTS, fill the IELTS score in the form and then send the application forms?

3) Is it necessary for me to get my certificates and Credentials assessed by someone before sending them?

Kinldy let me know. Thanks : )

Dear rupeshhari,

Your reply has settled my doubts. But can you please expand on the following statement you have made?

We only know two people in the FSW category 1 pool that have had positive reply.

By this, do you mean to say, the chances of most FSW application getting a positive reply are very slim?

One other thing that I would like to know is, if I were to skip IELTS by explaining to CIC about my language skills, can I still claim for full language points in my application form? I am quite fluent and confident with my english language skills.

Please let me know.

Thanks & regards

Dear rupeshhari,

Glad to know that you are one among the two with a positive reply from CIC. Hope I too can manage to scrape through. Very kind of you for your guidance. I shall follow your directions and thanks a million for your answers. : )

P.S. I hope you get your PR soon.

With warm regards
