Hello,

March 4th 2021 AOR. Just received a document request saying thank you for updating IRCC about my marital status. I haven't updated them about anything. I applied as single.

Funny thing is, in my GCMS notes, there is a request letter going out to me on May but it was cancelled. Could it have been a mistake from IRCC? Maybe they have touched my file for the first time in 3 months and it automatically triggered this email? I submitted a PDF saying I haven't informed IRCC of any changes and attached proof that in my GCMS notes it clearly states no records of marriage/ CL.

@legalfalcon your opinion is appreciated.

Most likely it is a human error.

Call centre agent said the same thing. Thanks for your input. @legalfalcon I submitted a pdf document stating that I haven’t changed my marital status, screenshots of my GCMS where it clearly says composition: single never married/no CLP and screenshots of my application submission where I chose never married/single. Should this suffice to amend the mistake on their end?

They would have amended the mistake themselves and you did not have to send any document.

If you did, no harm.

I submitted an affidavit as my lawyer advised stating that my eligilibilitt assessment shows single and I applied as a single applicant etc.Now my only concern is that what if I applied to my PGWP or worker visa declaring my gf as spouse or common law by mistake ? I cant find those forms to double check.. would it be grounds for misrep? Lawyer said no because it is not material to my application but i feel so distressed.. please provide me your honest opinion :(

You cannot make the mistake of claiming someone as common law when they are not.

Also, if you have a lawyer, consult them, that know your documents and your case.

Lawyer said situations change and wether I declared or not before, I did apply for PR as single and my GCMS notes state it as such in my composition. My absolute concern is wether I did or not in past applications.. I am trying to get a feel of IRCC’s stance on this.
