Hello Friends
Can anyone who knows or have gone thru international adoption process share their experience? I hear you have to obtain the ministry approval in Ontario before you proceed and you have to use an agency that can cost you between 15-25k!!!!

What happens when you start the processing in your country, land and go back to finish the procedure do you still have to go thru the ministry? The child in question is 16 and not an infant ut have lived with us for a long time.

Also is there another way to sponsor such a child other than thru adoption?

Responses are welcome please

If I was a Visa Officer, I might suspect that this was a possible "adoption of convenience".
It is very unusual to adopt someone who is so close to the age of majority...
The fact that you ask if there is any other way to sponsor would give credence to this hypothesis...

I wish you all the best in your efforts. Maybe it's time to get an immigration lawyer involved to see what your options are?

I will suggest you sponsor the child through an education program, Try and see if you can obtain a student visa for him or her. If you can, then that's a good way to start.

Hi all, I have adopted a child (actually my nephew, 14 yrs old) prior to applying FSW. MR request done 15 months already. But when the Canadian officer came to my house and did not meet my adopted child. Is there a possiblilty to grant visas for the rest of the family or the whole application will be discarded? Thanks all.
