Hello,

I have applied to University of Regina to MEng ESE Project for winter intake 2016.

My profile:
Bachelor of Engineering (hons) Electrical CGPA :3.04/4
IELTS : 6.5 with no part less than 6.

What is my chance to get admission in UoR??

Looking forward for your response guys. Thx.

hi,

I have applied for Regina winter intake. From what i see your academics are good, in fact excellent. But your IELTS score is a little weak. You are in the margin and its a tough call for me to judge. My advice to you is to retake IELTS and try to score more than 7.0 overall no less than 6.5. The winter intake deadlines is november check if you can re-write the exam again and meet deadlines.

The reason i am telling this is to increase your chances for a research based master a.k.a MaSc. IELTS score in writing section is keenly looked at for research courses, since it involves writing a thesis and your english has to be really good, the only way to prove that is with a good IELTS score. You have a research publication and good GPA an IELTS of 7.0 will make your application very strong.

So look into giving a IELTS re-test if you feel you can meet deadlines on time. Else go ahead and apply with this and keep your fingers crossed. Your academics are brilliant.

All the best!

I have applied for MEng Electronics for Winter 2016.

Did anyone get any update in the application summary that transcripts are received?
I sent the transcript in the said email a week ago.

Thank you for your sesponse,
Regarding to UoR website, the minimum requirements of IELTS is fiting my IELTS score. However, getting 7 in IELTS will increase my chances as you mentioned and I agree with you.
All the best and I hope we both get accepted and meet thier.
Kind regards.

Hello dear,
I emailed them scan of transcripts, degree certificate, resume, statement of interest and IELTS and it took only one working day till they updated the status 'received'.
All the best.

Hi guys,
I have applied as well for M.Eng ESE with Co-op. I had 3.37/4.00 and IELTS 6.0 though they exempted my english language test. No update till now. anyone got any update or any idea when we may expect a reply?

The last update i got was 2 weeks back. They sent a mail that all my documents have been received, and it will take 2-3 months for them to process things and make a decision. The impatient phase of waiting begins :-\ ???

Hi all,

I applied for MS Biochemistry (July 7). They waived my IELTS condition. And they do waive it for all the universities worldwide recognized by U of R, if their medium of instruction is English sole.

There should not be any problem with ur credentials. With a journal publication ur chances of gettin a theis based masters is also high.

If you had mentioned your research interests clearly in the statement and if you had showed intent to pursue research, then there are chances to get admission. On the other hand, if u have related work experience then that might also help. Have u applied for electronics or software?
