Hi all,

I emailed my job duties to HRSDC and they came back with NOC code 1241 which is administrative assistant skill level B of the NOC. I have been reading a lot of stuff on this website and I'm not sure how CPP-O assesses administrative job titles as there is overlap with Skill level C jobs. I worked at a visa processing centre that served a Consulate and my job title was Submission Officer. I have listed my job duties below if someone could give me some input. I would be really grateful as I am waiting to send out my application:

- Coordinating all administration and logistics pertaining to delivery of passports and immigration documents to the consulate, the client or the logistics company via courier and other delivery services.

- Accepting, and proofreading visa applications and immigration documents in order to ensure compliance with government laws and regulations and consular procedures.

- Answering client concerns pertaining to visa application requirements, rules and regulations, consular processing times and status of applications via email, phone and in person and advising clients on their immigration categories and requirements.

- Opening regular incoming mail from the consulate, uploading the same onto the electronic database and distributing it internally.

- Tracking the status of applications in process at the consulate using electronic tracking software and communicating information pertaining to the status of applications to the client.

- Maintaining and recording applicant information and confidential immigration documents such as visa applications, passports, birth certificates and landed-immigrant documents using internal electronic and manual filing systems and software.

- Handling financial and bank related transactions, counting cash, and preparing the end of day financial reports and submission office tallies.

- Greeting clients at the point of entry when required, enquiring as to nature of business and advising accordingly.

- Cross- referencing client information and visa application information forwarded from the submission office to ensure consistency and accuracy on the visa application.

- Performing other administrative tasks to support management as assigned.

Guys any help or advice would be much appreciated!!!! Thanks!

I'd say, be very glad for the HRSDC assessment and include a copy of it with your application. There is no bullet-proof guarantee, but I'd say that's a good sign.

I would be really grateful as I am waiting to send out my application:

This is confusing given that you have made 2 other posts that say you have already submitted it.

Hi Jes_ON

Thank you for your reply. I just wanted some confirmation in terms of how CPP-O assesses these cases.

None of us (that I know of) works for CPP-O, so you're asking for mind-reading :) There's really nothing you can do about it anyway, I think the HRSDC judgment is a good one, and it will help your application to include it. I don't know what more you can do.

Not to bump a relatively old thread, but I'm about a month away from getting the 1 year of experience and applying under NOC 1241 (in fact, my duties are almost identical to what's below except I work in finance). I understand that depending on how the employment letter is worded, the processing officer(s) may classify the experience as Level C. My question is regarding the supporting documentation/professional certificates.

Given that I work in the financial industry, one of the preferred qualifications of this job is to have the CSC completed (i.e. pass both exams, and receive certificate from the organization). Do you think this will help strengthen my case that it's a Skill B job and not Skill C? I'm writing exam 2 next week and I should have the certificate by August.
