Hi friends,

Can you please share your view(s) on buying a winter overcoat and blazer from my home country i.e. india or from canada in terms of price...

Regards,
Danny

if you will land during winter season, you can buy at least one outerwear, gloves and scarf to wear upon arrival, then if you need more you can buy after you have settled, there are a lot of inexpensive ones available.

i find that in the philippines, it's hard to find winter wear and can be expensive so may be in india it will be the same since we both have tropical climate.

i saw thermal undergarments in marks&spencer and it costs about CAD55 per pair but you can buy in Canada for CAD20 or less.

I think whatever you will get in India will not be as warm as you might need in Canada, so even if you buy something from there, you might need to buy some stuff from canada as well.

I will suggest that take some warm stuff from India, but be prepared to buy something warmer again later.

Hi,

You can buy thermocot from india as therma wear is very costly in canada $ 40 for pair I have checked all big store in canada. you can get $ 20 but not in good quality.

you have to buy jacket from here.range above $100 for good quality jacket that keep you warm in -20 also.

Purchase it in India, it'd be lot cheaper there.
Whoever says that the comfort, warmth, protection of it wouldn't be the same there isn't opining rightly... Remember Srinagar, Darjeeling, Shillong (& I'm not mentioning Siachen Glacier, Leh, Thoise, Laddakh - where we worked), the cold in those places, especially during the winters, is the same as here... unless u r heading for Nunavut. And ppl there aren't buying clothes from Canada, do they?

Qorax

Maybe you can hunt for a coat in India with the made in Canada tag.....problem solved.
