Having learnt so much after lurking on these forums for several years before just now sorting my application for PR, I thought completing the forms would be a lot more straightforward than it is currently proving! I'm afraid I have another question...
Long before we got married, there was a period of just over 2.5 years when I was in Canada on back to back visitor visas, staying with my partner. After I'd been in Canada for one year, we obtained a Statutory Declaration of Common Law Union (with the intention of applying for PR, though we never actually did).
For the "Personal History" section I have put that I was travelling during this time.
For the "Addresses Since Aged 18" I had previously (a couple years ago) been advised that I should put my UK address for this period, but that I should add an explanatory note to the form explaining that I was visiting Canada but my permanent address was in the UK. I'm happy to do that, but I just now realised that the Common Law Union declaration might conflict with that.
How should this be approached? Do I:
(a) list the addresses I stayed at during my time as a visitor to Canada, because we declared ourselves as Common Law?
(b) put my UK address and explain that this was my permanent address, as I was only in Canada as a visitor?
I'd be grateful for any guidance! Thank you.
