Hey folks,

Almost done with my application to sponsor my wife - just paid the fees and printed the receipt. Now, having searched a bit on this forum about what to write on the receipt (seeing as it printed off with my name on it because I used my card to pay), I have filled in the date of birth of my wife in that part, and left the UCI blank (as she doesn't have one).

Did people fill in the address/postal code/telephone number part? Or just leave it blank? I live in Canada, so of course have an address here. Fill it in with that, or just leave it?

Thanks :)

For the receipt include the payor's info so if you paid, complete the form with your address, your DOB and UCI (if you have one).

Thanks! I was searching through this forum though, and I found a link to a CIC page of how to complete the receipt, which states to put the principle applicant's DOB and UCI (which would be my wife).

The page didn't say anything about addresses though! Confusing :/

You did fine (assuming you paid the fees). Directly from CIC's website:

Code:
How to complete the Payer Information section on the e-payment receipt?

The e-payment receipt must be filled out by hand prior to submitting it with the application. The “Payer Information” fields must match the cardholder's information entered at the time of the payment.

The “Client date of birth” and “Client ID” must be those of the principal applicant.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=944&t=4

Writing in your DOB and ID as client DOB and client ID is ok since you're the sponsor and are the principal applicant for the sponsorship (step 1) and your spouse/common-law partner/conjugal partner is the principal applicant for step 2. The applications are linked so the fee payment can be done jointly (as you know, you pay fees for both step 1 and step 2 upfront).

I'd be curious to see the link benA105 alludes to since it would represent a shift in policy.

The receipt fee's info is for a refund.
It doesn't really matter if is written "Batman" and "Batcave" on this. ;D

I paid the full $1,040 for the whole application. I did read the principle applicant part - but I interpreted that as the "principle applicant" being my wife, and I being the "sponsor".

Still a bit unsure, as I've already filled in the D.O.B. with my wife's details, but everything else is blank at this point...
