Address Problem - Please help

Hello guys,

I recently moved (two weeks back), I had applied for my wife's PR before I had moved so had put my old address. I tried updating my address with CIC and I was told to wait till my file is opened.

I am hoping to apply for my citizenship this coming week and dont know what address to put. (I have another three weeks before the first stage for spouse application is approved)

Keep checking your online application status for your wife's PR by entering her details at the following link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp

Once you get any information online, just call the call centre to update the address

If you are unable to find any info online at the above mentioned link, keep calling CIC call centre and see if they have opened your file and call centre cant do anything until the application has been opened. Also, you can let someone know at your old address to collect any paperwork for you in case CIC sends you some kind of acknowledgement letter.
Usually acknowledgement letter has some kind of ID number that you can use online to check application status.

You can also write a letter with your wife's details with your new address so that when they open the file, they can update the address.

You can apply for citizenship using your new address however, get your IDs changed with new address and submit them for citizenship application. Newly replaced IDs with new address may or may not be a RQ trigger.

Put the address where you live now. If you are planniong to move, write a note to CIC and ask them to send it to your new address.
