Hello,

I have received my AOR and waiting for the medicals now, i have moved to new place in the same city.
I tried updating my address online and there starts the confusion.

When i go and try to update my residential address it also forces me to enter the new mailing address which is confusing because i only want to change my residential address.

Now the option is either i enter the old mailing address agin in the new mailing address columns and submit it or send email to case processing unit informing and requesting them to change my residential address.

So what do you guys think is better option.

just inform them of your new address thru ur visa office provided on ur AOR

I agree with Toink - even if your application is being processed at CPP-O, CEC applications are still considered "outland" applications (for some reason). At the moment, applications are sent to a VO in the USA for final visa issuance.

So, my point its, it's not clear that CIC's new online change of address system is for us. It probably is not. Follow the instructions on your AOR.

I had to do an address right after I received my medical request.

I simply emailed: OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca
Subject line was my application number followed by "Address Change", just like this: "E0000xxxxx - ADDRESS CHANGE"

Then I simply put in the body of the email:
"Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for the Medical Forms below. This email is to inform you that my address will be changing effecting April 1st, 2012. My new address will be as follows: "My new address""

I got a acknowledgement email back from CIC the next day.

When I logged on to my ECAS there was actually an option to change my address online. Try that

Same is true for e-CAS - it allows you to change your address, but the VO won't get it. You have to send the address change directly to your VO. I think the instructions you get with the AOR specifically state not to change your address on e-CAS. They used to, anyway - things do change...

Hi rmust,

Did you receive your medical forms in your email ? Also, Is there a need to attach the medical forms in your above address change email to CPP-O ?

thanks friends for your valuable inputs...i will send email to the visa office informing them about address change

Hi Canadavisa07,
Yes I received my medical request by email, and because it was just a few days before I was due to move to a new address, I just replied to the medical request email to inform them of the address change.
They emailed me back saying that they will update my address.

No you do not need to attached medical forms to address change request!

I am just picking up on this old email thread. I am facing the same problem right now. System is forcing me to update the home address when I am trying to update the mailing address.

Should I call CIC or email Ottawa or update it via ecas? Please advise.

How to Change address through E-cas

Has anyone updated their home or mailing address online?
