They only post "medical results have been received" without follow-up if they are acceptable.

Which office? Some ask for the passport early. Others wait until they really are ready to issue a visa/COPR.

That's what I suspected. In my experience, NDVO asks for passports early in the process, unlike other visa offices that ask once they are really ready to issue the visa/COPR. That you received the PPR at the same time as the medical request is consistent with that.

Still, with your medicals done, as long as there are no security issues (CSIS does that check) I would expect you to see that returned in the next couple of months.

Good luck!

Hi computer geeek,

Can you please advise me too... I was tested positive for syphilis.. and will be starting treatment tomorrow.

Can you please advise how many chances do i have to get my student visa?

would i be inadmissible? or do i wait till the CIC to send me another medical exam to do after getting treated or what?

This thread was for a PR application in the PNP class, so a student visa question is a bit off topic.

Once you have completed the treatment and CIC medical is satisfied they should agree to approve the medical portion of your visa (assuming they are holding your file open). Syphillis is a "thread to public health" and thus makes you inadmissible but once treatment is complete (successfully) you would no longer be inadmissible.

It will take many months before that happens though.

Hi, Computergeek, your answers have been more than helpful.

I have a question. I received Medical Request on September 30,2013 and completed it October 16,2013.
2 weeks later on my ecas file it says 'medical results have been received'.

Does that mean I passed medical part of the application or they just received it?

thanks

If you see "medical results have been received" and have no indications of problems it means your medical results were acceptable. If there are issues, they will contact you (medical furtherance and/or fairness letter) before they post a negative medical result (in my case it was 16 months from the medical to a negative medical decision.)

The issue is about cost of treatment: how much does it cost to treat these conditions? If it is below the "excessive cost" threshold then it won't matter (M2) but if it exceeds that limit then you are inadmissible to Canada (M5).

Nothing you mention usually rises to that level, but it depends upon your specific conditions.

ok, now I don't understand. U also had 'Medical results have been received' status, and then after 16 months they said you are not admissible to Canada?

No. I had a medical examination in August 2010. The "medical results have been received" appeared 16 months later, when the medical officer rated me M5. I challenged the rejection in January 2012, was granted leave in July 2012 and agreed to dismiss the JR application in September 2012 because my second application was approved.

My second medical was done in February 2012 and as soon as my second application was posted in e-CAS it said "medical results have been received" (though I'd seen the results in March 2012 because of the pending challenge). In that case I was rated M39.

that means my case clearly lies in M2... ok then in M2 what are the chances of further medical tests or rejection??
