Hello,

I've been asked to fill out an additional "Additional Family Information" form and resend it. My girlfriend, a Canadian citizen, is sponsoring me and I didn't include her in the form because I didn't think I was to include her in the "Common-Law Partner" part of section A if she, as my common-law partner, was my sponsor... am I wrong in thinking this?

Thank you all:) (Apologies if I didn't clarify my situation fully)

On the Additional Family Information Form the CIC wants your spouse/partner, parents, children, and all siblings (including half- and step-) even if these people are already Canadian citizens or Canadian PRs. It is not like the other forms.
So yes, you should have listed your girlfriend as your common-law partner in section A. (And at an interview, if there is one, don't refer to her as your girlfriend; girlfriends can't sponsor a boyfriend; a common-law partner can sponsor a common-law partner.) If you do not list your partner in section A, you would then have to sign the section stating that you do not have a common-law partner.

Thank you ever so much:)

It makes sense now that it's explained, I did dither about it at the time though, wondering whether I should or shouldn't. And thanks for the tip bout how I refer to my common-law partner:)

Thanks again:)
