Hi,

Filling out Additional Family Information form. I've read so many threads, and so much conflicting information is leaving me confused.

I understand that only the principal applicant needs to fill out this form. However, what I am unsure about is for Section A, "spouse or common-law partner" (if applicable) - should I (the common-law sponsor) be listed?

I have read the CIC Guide and all it says is "Section A - Write the personal details for your spouse or common-law partner, (if this applies to you)". Now, if this same form is used for other types of applications (ie. express entry) perhaps some people would fill out N/A but if applying under the family class for common-law sponsorship (as I am), should this always be filled out? I've read posts saying yes, and some saying no (since I'm already a Canadian Citizen). Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks as always in advance!

I don't know for sure and like you, I was also confused.
But we came to the final decision to just add myself to that form. I mean its not going to hurt.. I hope. We also say that they wanted the names printed in native language so we did that in separate page.
It does get confusing! I know for my husband (pa), I didn't put myself in the travel form as I read not too. So it is confusing but I do understand they can't make an application to for everyone.

Hi

Being Canadian doesn't preclude you from being listed. If your partner had Canadian children, they would still need to be listed on that form.
