This has to be completed by the Principle Applicant. There is no such requirement of having over 5 dependents.

@legalfalcon .... Sir no offense, but I am sharing the link for
Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008)

When we scroll down to the middle of the page for DEPENDANT Section, it is written as verbatim:

Dependant(s)
You must answer each question on behalf of each of your dependants.

To add a new dependant to the application, click the “Add Dependant” button, located at the bottom of the page.

To remove a dependant from the application, click the “Remove Dependant” button.

You can add up to 5 dependants using this form.

If you have more than 5 dependants:

To include everyone in your application, you must complete the following form for each additional family member:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...-forms-guides/complete-0008-5669.html#details

Sir need your guidance to remove the confusion.

No offence taken and there is no confusion.

IMM 0008 and IMM 0008 (Dep) are the same forms, except that if you have more than 5 dependents that you cannot fit in IMM0008 you will have to add IMM 0008 (Dep) for each additional dependent.

Your initial question was about IMM 0008 (Dep). Each form has a guide on how to fill it and for IMM 008 it can be found at https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...lication-forms-guides/complete-0008-5669.html

IMM008 is where you start and continue to IMM008DEP if required based on your personal family composition.

I regret if this caused any confusion.

@legalfalcon

Sir noted with thanks!

Also I am not trying to flatter you here, but the knowledge/guidance you provide is of great help for us.
I don't know how I would have submitted my PR application (including addition of new born) if it wasn't for you!

So once again, thank you so much sir!

@Canmah when did you notify IRCC about your new born. I did in last week of July but have not yet got any reply on documents.
Also ,@legalfalcon is it fine to do upfront medicals or wait for them to respond back with uci and ime for new born?
And shall I again notify them as no reply has been received.

Raised the webform with all the documents as discussed above.

The baby has not yet been added to the file but then I am not expecting it any time sooner.

Pre covid it used to take 30 days ... Now god knows.

You can get upfront meds done and send the upfront sheet. No need to wait.

@Canmah , @legalfalcon , I have informed IRCC about my new born thrice in the last two months but they have not replied even once. So shall I go ahead and raise a web form with all required documents without the IRCC's asking for documents or shall I wait for them to provide the list? Also, are these the only documents to be submitted?

a) Birth Certificate
b) Passport
c) e-medicals (upfront)
d) IMM 0008 Form
e)POF

And how do we do the online payment for this?

In my opinion you should proactively provide all the documents and not wait for IRCC.

Yes these are the documents you have to submit, if total number of your family members including yourself is below 5.

Also required is a Letter of Explanation (LOE), detailing the change in family composition.

For payment:

IRCC is currently not responding to webforms. However, all webforms are added to the file and as and when the officer sees them, they will send you the list of forms and documents required.

Hi @legalfalcon

Based on my understanding, I'm planning to send the following documents to IRCC via webform for adding the newborn. It would be great if you could confirm whether the list looks fine. Do I need to include anything else as well e.g. baby's digital photo?

1. Birth Certificate
2. Passport
3. Updated Proof of Funds
4. Upfront e-Medical
5. LoE
6. IMM0008
7. IMM5406E (both for me and spouse)
8. Proof of payment to add newborn (CAD 225)

Looks good. If any additional form is required, IRCC will ask.
