Hi there,

We are struggling to fill this easy looking form....MY husband in sponsoring me to Canada. I am an independent women and no one is dependent on me...eg mom,dad,siblings are all well settled abroad too..

My concern here is :

1. Do i have to add them in the form or is it only form the members who you might be sponsoring in future/accompanying you or anything like that.

2. My parents are planing to move from one city to another in some time...Why do the immigration want address? Do the contact family to confirm anything or its just asked for checking if they live there...

3. in the checklist they have asked, page 4 supporting doc for sponsored person: Now there is a lot of things they are asking there do we have to give all like Birth certificate of family accompaning you or not. Why would they ask that.?they also asked for ID card copies if applicapble...now what does this mean...ID if applicable and birth certificate no matter what... i am so confused...i dont have a family booklet..do i cross the box ... :-\

Hi

1. Yes, you have to list everyone on that form. It is not about sponsoring them in future.

2. They won't contact your family. It doesn't matter if your parents move.

3. They are referring only to family members included in the application. You do not provide any documents for your parents/siblings. "If applicable" means exactly that: if you have an ID card, it needs to be included but if you don't, then it doesn't apply.

You are the Applicant. You complete this form. And you provide the names and address of all the relatives as outlined on the form.
This includes your parents, your children, your brothers and sisters, as listed on the current form.

The purpose of the form might be several things; to further help identify you in the records by documenting your family unit
or possibly to provide names which they might make security background checks as well as checking your own name.
That is just a guess on my part, but they can get a better assurance that a person is "okay" and "not a problem" if they
check and find their entire family has a good record. Maybe they don't check that, I don't know. The thought just came to me.
It also is a way for Immigration to record in their system who you identify as your family, and look for discrepancies in case of any
future family applications.
Regardless of the reason, they want it. They don't contact the people listed.

It is for the applicant. There are many purposes, primarily security and background checks.

Feel free to not list your parents and siblings. Of course, your app will be returned as incomplete.

i definitely dont want to send incomplet app... my only concern is to fill the form properly and not wrong thats why i am checking what family means...

You just need to fill in everything they ask for.

i have another question we got married in a court and unfortunately our families live in other countries its only me alone in Australia and my husband came to marry me here ......our families couldnt make it to our court marriage and hence we have no pics with them,,,is it a issue...i mean for us it was a financial issue coz traveling for whole familes to australa rom uk and usa was very expensive and i live in a studio appt. accomodation was a issue so we decide on court marriage now and later once i go to canada we will arrange a proper marriage. Do u think this can be a drawback ??

You need Immigration to see that your marriage is legitimate. Having a marriage at the court doesn't automatically disqualify you, others have been approved who had a similar marriage, but your goal is to show your relationship is genuine and not just for immigration. If you have any pics with family and you as a couple at another time, include a couple of pics. If there's no pics, try to get letters of support from family or friends who know you both.

I don't know all your history, but for example if you document that you knew each other a long time, that is a positive. If you knew each other a short time, got married quickly without family, you just must be very careful to give all the proof that you have a genuine marriage, you have a lot in common, have shared goals and beliefs. Use Question 11 as an opportunity to provide a long detailed description of your relationship and include it on extra paper.

Provide whatever you can to give yourself an edge and help the officer look further than just the fact of a court marriage.

Where are you guys from? It depends a lot on the culture/religion of the couple.

We both are orignally from Pakistan but brought up in abroad..so our families are settle in UK,USA and canada..we both were is long-dstance relation for 4 years and we have all proofs of that... like chat histories and stuff...is it somthing to be afraid of..

we have proofs of our relationship development in the past 4 years... its not that we meet 1 year back and now court marrage.... we have all proofs.... m a bit worried now if court marriage is a negative impact on our case..provided now they as sooo much limited documentation its so hard for relations like us to prove how legit we are..not everyone get married normaly ...ppl have so much going on ...i hope they consider our case wisely and not on base of limited doc requirement...we are struggling to proof ourself in such limited documents required...just 10 pages is not enough...

I have done the changes accordingly ..you are right word reception is way better.... Thanks a lot we will be sending in couple of days and hope its all good...Wish us luck ;D

Another quick question we are getting some letters from friends and family as a proof of relationship recognise !!! does those letters gave to be nortorized or just a sign is enough with their contact details.
