Hi everyone,

So my wife (who was added to my application post AOR) just completed her biometrics on September 06, 2023. I checked my tracker and for me it says all four are completed. For my wife, only eligibility is showing "not started". The latest "completed" for both of us being the background check. I called IRCC today to check and the agent said our criminality is still in progress but security has been completed. This seems strange to me - how can security be completed in a day or two of doing biometrics for my wife? As far as I know, criminality happens first and then security.

Any ideas where we go from here? What are our next steps?

What documents did they ask you for. Did they ask you for wedding photos and relationship questionnaire?

asking on behalf of a friend.
"I got married recently in India and Today(Dec 13) I received my PR Portal request. I got my marriage registration certificate yesterday (Dec 12). I am currently in India.
Requesting input on 2 scenarios:
1. I do not inform IRCC that I am married, I enter Canada within next 7 days and respond to the email saying that I am within Canada. And later on inform IRCC that I got married and request to update spouse details (Married - unaccompanied spouse)
2. In the same email, I inform IRCC that I got married recently(give the dates and everything) and I let them know that I am currently not in Canada. Will this require my spouse's PCC? How much delay should I expect in my application after updating this detail against my file?"
We really appreciate any and every suggestion that can be provided for this situation. Thank you.

Does NOT matter if you return to Canada and try to virtually land or request PPR from outside Canada.
If you land (virutally or via PPR and crossing the border) as single and your spouse is not added (accompanying or non-accompanying), submitted spouse's PCC and passed medical and background check, you will NEVER be able to sponsor her.

DO NOT LAND as single and DO NOT land even if you "think" that you have informed IRCC. You need to have everything done including your spouse. And you should get PPR after (as married).

Thank you YVR123. I definitely do not want to misrepresent. So, now when I inform them about marriage AND let them know that I am not in the country -----
1. how does my timeline change for getting COPR and PR card?
2. Can I still fly back to Canada, before getting COPR, based on my PGWP and visitor visa?

I am not familiar with the PR portal request and the process. Send webform to let them know about your marriage.
There are many posts about adding spouse to the application. Take a look at them.
Look at the portal request and see if there are option to response for change of marital status...etc.

You can fly back via your TRV and PGWP.
