Hey guys,

I'm gonna try to make it as short as possible for you to read and we would really appreciate any advice:

my girlfriend is from visa exempt country and arrived in Canada on her eTA half a year ago - she never got a stamp in her passport and was not told to leave any time sooner. She applied for her visitor extension exactly 30 days before her 6-month visit clicks off at the end of this month.

Meanwhile, she joined IEC Working Holiday program pool hoping to get her invitation and work permit sorted but apparently there have been some issues between her mother country and Canada regarding IEC programs for citizens from Canada hence why it seems like Canada has decided to hold on with issuing invitations and no one knows for how long.

We have been planning to get married and sponsor her once I have gotten my PR (I'm a PNP applicant from January 2018) regardless, but not in a rush, having time to organize everything. Her IEC work permit was meant to give us that time - atm it seems like IEC might not be an option.
Our key question here is - how risky would it be to ADD her to my existing PNP PR application (as I mentioned, I am NOT a PR yet) in case her visitor extension gets DENIED which might happen at the end of March / beginning of April?

We have read threads considering similar situations, but our is slightly different - I am NOT a PR yet and we are aware that I might lose my PR if things go wrong, i.e. her extension is denied and she is OUT OF STATUS before we get AOR hence her application, and then also mine, gets refused?

What about restoration of status in this case? Could we restore her status as a worker if we could get things done (get married, send her PR application together with OWP application) right after visitor extension potential refusal and restoration decision we would apply for, is there a chance she will not need to leave and I won't lose my PR?

We are one of those couples who absolutely hate separation if she needs to go back home for few months and i.e. wait for my PR to arrive and try to enter on her eTA again so we are pretty desperate to find a solution to stay together.

We would greatly appreciate any input guys, please help.

Hey Wakki,

I am obviously aware of her being legally married to me.

Unfortunately, adding spouse to a file puts impact on principal applicant's PR, unlike in sponsoring once being PR. So if I would add her to my existing PR application and she gets denied and becomes out of status, her PR application would likely be denied, hence mine too.

Thank you for providing the link but there is no informtion about what would happen in our case, how much impact any denial of restoration has on my PR (in this case my PR app becomes hers too)
