Inform Detroit but send a copy of the letter to Ottawa :)

Dear Leon,
Thank a lot for everything.....Since I'm still waiting for my passport and can't send it now, Can I just inform Ottawa first thru email and inform Detroit later on together with my passport, does it make sense to you?
Thanks once again, and hope you will not get tired of answering my never ending questions?
