Hi All, I really need help and want to know if anyone had similar situation like me.

I got ready for visa email on 2 June 2015. I send my passport and got back with immigration visa. I notified CIC about my marriage and CIC sent me the spouse add-on kit on 25 June 2015. After that CIC requested my passport to temporary cancelled the immigration visa. I received my passport back on 17 July 2015. My ECAS status changed from "Decision Made" to "In Process." There is no update after that.

Note: My wife is not accompanying me at this moment due to some reason.

Questions:

1. How long it make take to get medical request for my wife.

I called CIC and the agent said it may take another 14 months. I am so worried. Please help me. :( :( :(

Thanks in advance.

You've essentially restarted the application process, because now you have to wait for your wife's application process to be completed and it's almost the same as the one you've went through, so yes, it's going to take a while, possibly even 14 months as the CIC agent told you.

What you should have done is notify CIC about the marriage but state that your wife is not accompanying you at the time, get your PR and sponsor her PR application afterwards.

Thanks c2h5oh for your reply. I have done the same way you suggested. I sent necessary documents to CIC and there was one question in one of the form that says something like "Is your spouse accompanying you"? I selected "No".

I sumbitted PCC for my wife with other documents. I am waiting for medical request for my wife.

Thoughts?

You already got your answer, i know it is hard to accept as this is already a very long process, but if they cancelled your visa, you went back in the queue and it will take a long time for them to process your wife. It is impossible for us to give you a timeline or advice on what to do as again, now you can only wait and see.

The only thing i would do is request notes to know where it is at and the comment they put when you added your wife.

did they say why would it take another 14 months to complete the process ? i think there is no eligibility check required for your wife, so the processing time should exclude it.

i agree, you should have just waited to process your wife's pr application after your landing.

Hi hrdp,

I have a similar situation like yours. My ECAS status changed from "Decision Made" to "In Process" after adding my spouse, but received no update till date.

Thanks!
