Experts please advise,

If you graduated from high school 12yrs, and a diploma course of 1 yr. , which of these two choices will be the correct one ? Its confusing because 12 yr. high school + 1yr diploma = 13yrs os study

1. Accompanying Spouse / Common-Law Partner’s Education:

a) A one-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and completed at least 12 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies.

b) A one-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship or university degree at the bachelor’s level and completed at least 13 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies.
