Hi all. I just received my COPR in the mail, and called to make an appointment to activate it. They told me that I would receive an email in about 2 weeks with the appointment time. The problem is, I'm traveling overseas for a wedding in about 60 days, and the agent said that I probably wouldn't receive the card in time. She said if I flag-poled in the next few days, I "might" get it in time. I want to activate it ASAP so I can start the 3 month waiting period for health insurance, but what happens if I don't get my card in time?
I was reading online that some people have had their cards rushed because they had to travel overseas, and other people saying they got a travel document that allowed them to re-enter Canada because their PR card didn't arrive in time, but the agent didn't really comment on these options.
What can I do? Thanks!
