Hello All,

I have completed my three years degree in Finance as Bachelors of Business Administration in 2010
Then I completed my two year graduate diploma in finance alongside my job as Post Graduation Diploma in Business Administration in India (2016 to 2018).

I have been working since January 2014 in Accounting field basically in Order to Cash functions like Billing, Cash Application, Commissions processing and Collections till date.

So my query is that can it be justified in SOP, as I am interested in Supply Chain Management of one year graduate certificate course?

Kindly assist.

Career progression should be there...a certificate after diploma is not recommended...a masters is recommended for u....at this point its a bit difficult if u apply...my 2 cents

Actually, I have done distance post graduation in India while working so it’s not exactly a master.

That’s why I am going for Graduate Certificate program which is one year Masters in Canada if am not wrong.

But I have applied for Organization Management instead of Supply Chain today finally.

Those are very generic programs which you can take anywhere, including in your home country. Even though the certificate in Canada may be a little more valuable but still it doesn't justify the fact that you have to spend thousands of dollar for such a certificate. I think you should go for Master simply because you already had a Bachelor and Post Graduate Diploma. Make no sense if you take the Graduate Certificate ( and no, it is not considered one year Master, it much less valuable than a Master). It looks like a step backward to me. Your choice of education may get questioned by the visa officer.

You need to do research on your own. Yes there are universities who offer 1-year Master, it can be more or less competitive to get admitted.
Initially I was going for supply chain but the consultant guided me that it would be off the track as my education is in finance and accounting and my work experience too.
So they switched to Organization Management and applied today.

The only thing I can tell you is that a 1-year Graduate Certificate will not give you enough knowledge and skills to actually start a carrier in Supply Chain or even Organization Management (the name of the program sounds terrible because it's just SO generic). But a Master is different. And accounting may give you more professional opportunities in Canada. Supply chain workers usually start at an entry-level no matter what and I guess that's not what you are going for.

Since, I don’t have any experience or education in supply chain that’s why I had to switch the program.
But honestly, I am very much interested in Supply Chain program since 3-4 months from
Day 1.

People with a PG applying for another PG Diploma in Canada are getting refusals everyday. I think you may not fully understand how supply chain and its job market works. At the end of the day, it's your future then it's your choice.

I understood your point.
I am not going for PG Diploma, I am applying for 1 year graduate certificate program.

On the other hand, I could not find any masters program of one year in Accounting.

PG Diploma and 1-year graduate Certificate are basically the same in the term valuation. If your point is to STUDY then go for a Master even if it's more than 1 year (there is 1-year MBA with different concentrations just for your info). If you are just trying to enter Canada and you don't really care about your professional growth, then you can definitely try your luck with the Graduate Certificate that your agent chose for you.

Yeah I have seen few 1-year Masters program, but most of them are not accepting a gap more than 7 years.
There are few programs which are very expensive seeing my pocket, so I have to see everything at every end.
Hope you understand my situation.
