Accompanying spouse query

I believe sponsoring your spouse on a PR will take sometime and you must also prove your ability to sponsor someone else by work, funds, etc.

That shouldn't be a problem because i will get pr in 6 months and she would still have 6 months of wp valid by then when i apply her pr. so i wold be able to extend her wp further because she would be in Canada waiting for her pr.
Else i am not very hopeful abt cutoffs dropping below 450.

I want to discuss a case abt my friend.
Please help and guide us.

He had appointmnt for pcc today (gujarat, india) but when he went there he was not issued pcc.
The reason officer told that after getting married he needs to have new passport with his spouse name
On last page.
He is depedent in the application.
Is it true all the married applicants need to have new passport?
