Accommodation near Concordia University of Edmonton

Hey guys i just got admitted at Concordia University of Edmonton and I would like more information on how I can rent a 1 bedroom apartment near the university.I would prefer if I could get the apartment before I land in Canada but my chalenge now is that every website I am reviewing need proof funds,social insurance number,Canadian contacts etc

My question is how do I manage to get a 1 bedroom apartment applying from overseas?

Try craigslist and say that you are overseas. They shouldnt ask for money before you see the place or sign the lease anyway. If they do its a scam.
