hi, you are looking for apartments right? guess what apartments are really expensive all over Canada until you share it with someone. on campus residence would be an ideal choice for first semester if you are applying in January. Its hard to live off campus in january coz the temperatures tend to fall below -15 degrees in winter, on top of that its usually raining or snowing so it would be really tough for u to come back and forth from ur college. Second thing is as you would be new you will find it very difficult tou use the transport as sometimes you will have to wait for buses for more then an hour in freezing cold nights! you might also have to shovel the snow of your driveway and trust me its really hard to do! So the best bet is stay on campus for your first semester and once you have enough knowledge move out! i did the same thing. trust me first semester is the hardest not educationally but you have to adapt a totally new, tough and cold environment and u will be able to do that quickes if you can access you college right away without weather problems

when you go to the first one select you college and search from rooms available dont get an apartment just for ur self ( usually that will be around $650 to $900. or lesser if you find one.
