My husband accidentally signed his PR letter (the one with his photo on it) today, before reading the attached letter that says that the PR document must only be signed in front of the immigration officer at the border crossing.

He will be crossing the border from the US into Vancouver, BC in 5 days by car. Has this happened to anyone? What is the consequence of this? Will they just ask him to resign?

Thank you!! :)

I think, it won't be any issue. most probably they would ask him to sign again beside already signature. in worst case he can sign in front of them and let them match.

but u better wait for seniors members to respond.

I think no one knows for sure. Try and see what happens, then please report back here in case the question arises again!

i would call the cbsa office at the border he intends to cross at and ask before he gets there. the last thing he wants to happen is to show up and not be able to land. they *may* decide he needs a new one issued. no one can really say for sure because it depends on the officer/guidelines.
