Accidentally applied for a Visitor record rather than a TRV. Is my work permit invalid now?

You have to appl for a TRV online
No such requests over phone or webform

Hi! I'm worried I've made a huge mistake. I thought I was applying for a TRV but instead I applied and got approved for Visitor record. The thing is, is my work permit still valid? My work permit allows me to stay until 2025 July but my visitor record says I have to leave by 2023 September. I'm worried I can't stay until 2025 or that my PGWP is cancelled now.
Hi, what happened with your
Case at the end?

Hi, this happened to me as well. I applied for a TRV for me and my child, but my TRV was approved while my child was approved for a visitor record. Now I need to apply for my child's TRV but I don't know how to do it since he is a minor and I'm not sure if I have to create a new GCKey for my child or what other options I have.

Thank you.

Hello, After the renewal of my student permit last month, I intended to apply for a visitor visa in Canada. However, I mistakenly submitted an application for a Visitor Record instead, which was approved today. Upon consultation, I learned that holding a Visitor Record does not allow me to leave and re-enter Canada. Additionally, I was informed that this could negatively impact future applications for a PGWP, a new Student Permit and Permanent residency. My study permit is valid until August 2027(approved Nov 22), and the Visitor Recode is Approved today, valid for 6 months from Now.
I have an urgent trip planned to my home country in late February, and in light of this situation, I would like to cancel my current 'Visitor Record' status and apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) as soon as possible.
Could you please advise on how to proceed?
