Hello, I just got the bad news today that my girlfriend's application for tourist visa was refused and of course the visa officer is only using templates to give the reasons why it was refused, nothing detailed.

I've read a lot and I learned that it is possible for me to request detailed information about the refusal of my girlfriend's application through the Access to information act or Privacy act.

I am a Canadian citizen and I live Canada, I can request that information on her behalf.

I was wondering what is the best to use, access to information act or privacy act?

thank you for you answers.

I already answered this on a similar topic a few days ago, but long story short, you can only use the Access to Information Act for this:
