Accepted documents - proof of citizenship certificate

I have a general questions as it pertains to accepted document types.

I am applying for proof of citizenship certificate, and on the document checklist form under scenario 3, it says I need to provide:

proof of other nationalities acquired by you and your Canadian parent before February 15, 1977, if applicable to you

It does not state what specific documents are accepted here. Is a foreign passport (USA) accepted as proof of other nationalities? Are they asking for proof that you became a citizen before that specific date, or just generally that you became a citizen before that date? It is unclear.

Has anyone successfully submitted a passport for this requirement? Or are they looking for naturalization documents?

Under the law at one point historically, some citizens who acquired another citizenship (in some circumstances, anyway, ie how and when they acquired it can matter) would lose their Canadian citizenship. I think the question is about that and they are asking about that, not whether you have the documents to prove it.

This is one of these areas of citizenship law I don't know well though. You might use this tool to check:
