Hello. I am new to this forum and would like to seek for help.

I have been to Canada 2 times, in 2012 ( for 2 months) and in 2014(for 3 months). Visa were immediately given to me in the past without any problem. Last week I filled for an application visitor visa and I got my response yesterday. It was rejected and I was Very much surprised!!!!! The letter stated that PURPOSE OF VISIT was the main reason of my rejection. This is my profile:

I am 36 male. Married to a native Canadian and both kids are Canadian. I work in the military since 1998 and have no record of malicious behaviour what so ever. I have traveled 2 times to Canada the first time with my wife in 2012 for 2 months and the second time wit my wife for 3 months, to spend time with her family and she gave birth to my 2 kids there. We live in my country of origin and we only travel to canada for vacation purpose.

I have attached in my visa application these following files:
- document check list
- APPLICATION FOR temporary resident form dated ans signed
- family information form
- schedule 1 form
-details of military service form
- vfs consent
- old and new passport
- marriage licence and family extract ; both translated in English
- statement from military work that they have granted me 60 days of vacation only
- invitation letter from my mother in law stating that I will be there living in her house
- letter of Purpose of visit from myself stating that we are going on vacation to visit my family in law
-bank statement showing how I have available in account

So there it is me and my wife are surprised by the rejection. Plz help can someone clarify to me what to do and when should I reapply?

Thanks in advance
Maro

It really is hit and miss applying for trv's. If you are not in a rush you could order the notes to see what the issue is or apply again if you still feel the circumstances are the same.

What reasons were given for refusal?

Well, CIC suspects you of staying in Canada and applying to be sponsored by your wife from inland. Because your wife and your KIDS are Canadian citizens it makes easy for them just to stay in Canada and you to be sponsored. Also , from CIC point of view 60 days is a very long vacation , long enough for you to change your mind and to stay in Canada. Try 3-4 weeks.

What am thinking is that, you now don't qualify for a Visitor's visa, what you need now is a spouse visa.

I have always gone for 2 to 3 months. My last vacation was 3 months long and was approved. What changed their minds? What can I put in my applicant to show them that I have intentions of returning to my home town. I haven't put an itinerary airline travel in my docs could this help? What shall I put furthermore?

What Regina is saying is that because you have children that will go with you to Canada that is the whole family unit increasing the chances you may all stay in Canada. I have consistently seen the length of stay mentioned although I think that is crazy. If a persons intent is to stay whether you get a visa for a day or a month does not matter but that is just my opinion. Please do not get mad at me but if one or more of the children stay behind the chances go up.

It is very hard to leave one of my kids behind as they are 2 years old. I cannot leave them with their grandparents because of their old age.

I was surprised that they would think that I would stay there because my work does clearly state that I have to be back within the amount of time given. My work is a very strict place as it is military , we have rules to go by and if rules are not followed we get reprimanded so I do not have any intentions of not going back to my country.

Strict as in probably face a court martial. I think if you stress that issue and any weakness you see like any thoughts of why they think you might stay it would be worth another shot. Mentioning your elderly parents that you need to return to care for might help. You may have just gotten a bad vo.

You really think I should reapply? I could make a strong purpose letter because last one was not detailed at all and as I see it this forum purpose of visit sold be detailed ....but for purpose of visit do I put family visit as we are going to spend time with my family in law and ither family members. It's a family vacation. Should I detail the places we will go the family members we will visit? This is not tourism right?
