Hi guys,

I am going to sponsor my wife under the family class sponsorship. My status is PR in Canada which I achieved under point based system (skilled workes category).

Please clarify my two questions:

1. I am unable to provide 12 months of employment payslips as I landed in Canada in July, 2011. However I am going to attach the payslips of United Kingdom before July, 2011. Briefly, the payslips of UK and Canada cover the 12 months of employment. Please tell me is that acceptable? I will attach a covering letter which will explain the same.

2. Documents checklist, IMM5491: The number 17 is asking for original option C printout. What is that? Is that applicable for me? I do not have any cosigner.

Many thanks.

Before I attempt to answer your question, I have a question for you...

Did you get married after you entered Canada in July 2011. If not, you may have a problem if you did not claim her at that time...

anyone can correct me if Im wrong...

Dear Jamgirl, I landed in Canada in July,2011. I have got married in Jan, 2012 which is after I have got the PR. Now please answer my question if you know the correct answer.

Thanks.

1. Yes, that is acceptable.

2. An Option C is provided by CRA if you have filed taxes in the preceding year. If you have not filed taxes in Canada, you will not be able to get one, so try to provide one of the alternatives suggested.

Hello, yes I have already filed taxes by means of an accountant five weeks ago. I do have the "2011 TAX RETURN SUMMARY" and I have also enclosed that. The summary mentions the amount I will get back as well. I filed the taxes after receiving T4 by post. Do you mean that form?

Please clarify.

Thanks.

No - the Option C is a separate form. You have to call Canada Revenue Agency to request it and they will mail it to you.

Hello thanks for the reply. But does it applicable for me? In the document checklist, no.17, the guidance says option C for you and your cosigner. I do not have cosigner. If I ring Canada revenue agency how long they take to send it?

Please clarify.

thanks.

Doesn't matter if you don't have a co-signer or not, you still need it. That being said, I'm not sure if they will have your 2011 one yet, wouldn't hurt to call and ask however. Also, depends on where you are on how fast you would get it. I got mine the same week, and I'm in Ontario.

I agree, I don'y think it's likely that they will have your option C for the 2011 tax year prepared yet.

If you are not able to send an Option C print, just attach an explanation letter explaing the reason. You will be fine. I did the same and I was ok as a sponsor. All the best.
