Hello everyone,

I am new to this site and hoping to get my some queries and concerns answered regarding PR for Federal Skilled Category. Below is my first query.

My wife wants to apply for the Canadian PRC under Federal Skill Category. She wants to be our primary applicant. We have calculated our points through self assessment tool and with her current credentials we are supposed to be on 67 points precisely. She has a bachelor degree as full time studies that she secured in 14 years. Now, since we are right on the border, she is planning on obtaining a one year diploma or getting her masters from an online university to be well in the safe zone. My question is:

If my wife secures a one year diploma or a masters degree from an online university in order to attain more points on PRC qualification scale, will the immigration assessment officer give her the desired points?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Assuming you apply under SAP, then no it will not be counted. Only qualifications attained at the time of submission are counted.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Since you said that you already meet the 67 points why not go ahead or what again do you want to achieve. Let your wife that her ponits meet the required points be the principal applicant.
Even if there is increase in point from 67 later i do not think it will have a retrospective effect.

PMM,

1, Can you further elaborate on "SAP" like what does it stands for?
2, We have been married for last 5 months. Do we have to wait until our marriage times gets over 1 year? or we can still apply assuming that when our case will finally be processed my wife and i would have been married for over a year.

Thanks for the prompt response.

Hi Oloye,

In order to reach 67 points of qualification my wife must be able to achieve 7 band in all of the four types of exams in IELTS. Our biggest fear is that she may not be able to get the full points of language skill and to cover that part we are looking to improve our points in the other aspects of the qualification.

Kindly let me know your thoughts on it.

Thanks,
Kash
