Hello. This is Asim from Pakistan. I am 23 years old, turning 24 in October. I am an ACCA Affiliate and a graduate from Oxford Brookes University in Applied Accounting. Now I have been reading forums on this website, I am new to this, I couldn't find anything which can help me regarding the immigration procedure. Some are saying that ACCA is not recognized in Canada and we can not choose '2 or more degree' option when it comes to CSR Points Calculator.

I have one year of experience and the qualifications mentioned above. I am interested in applying for PR to Canada. I do not know which one is suitable, express entry or provincial nominee, thus posting this into this forum.

Please tell me if I am eligible or not and the steps I have to take?

Many thanks.

Hi Asim,

ACCA is recognised in Canada and is equivalent to 4 Years Bachelor (For Members). However, to claim points for Education you need Evaluation first from approved institutes.

Taking your profile into account you will need High Bands in IELTS to become eligible for PR to Canada. Before you start check whether you have 67 points or not.

If you think you are eligible then you will have to make express entry profile. See the process below:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp

Do your research before starting application and best place is to read pages in this forum.

Finally, Nomination route also need Express Entry Profile and for Direct PNP many requires Job Offer. However, you will need to check individual province criteria.

I hope you got your answer.

Many thanks for your reply. One last thing, I have a bachelors degree right so will an ACCA Affiliate's qualification be considered separately or will it count as one?

Hi Asim.
It's been a year since your poster that.
I find myself to be at the same spot you were this time last year. ACCA affiliate. BSc Hon. 1 year of practical experience. Did you get your answers since? Would these two count as separate degrees toward CRS? Have you applied for EE?

I haven't claimed PER (ACCA) against the said experience either, so working toward membership is going to be a lengthy process, so can not wait til then to apply for EE?
What about You?
