thanks carribRN and rocky :) hoping for the best. i will be submitting all my docs to my agent tomorrow and i hope they will submit it next week (or this week)..God bless us all :) :)

Let's not get confused here...The required option is clearly indicated. It's GENERAL TRAINING. I suggest you take time and read CIC manuals. It will save you the pain of guessing!! All the info you need ,is squarely right there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note: IELTS has two options for the reading and writing tests: General Training and Academic. You must take the General Training option.

So why do Academic if the CIC wants GENERAL TRAINING?????

I know CIC specifically required the general test.

I already took the academic IELTS for credentialling purposes before I applied. I just took a chance and submitted the same test results and thankfully CIC accepted them.

If I did not need to take the academic one for other purposes, ofcourse I would've taken the general test. Just thought I'd hit two birds with one stone y'know?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/factor-language.asp

this gives me hope. i believe this means GT or acad are accepted?

i don't want to cause any trouble or misunderstandings but i still want to hear your opinions and experience. i want an open discussion. :)

thanks domingo, louay, bash, argo, singhsaab.

hi imbubbles,

i submitted academic ielts to manila embassy. i asked my consultant several times too and said its okey.their explanation was that higher proficiency is needed for academic ielts inorder for one to get acceptable band score as compared to General training.Just no additional score from the embassy even if academic ielts was taken and for that matter more difficult compared to general. I dont want to give you so much hopes as im waiting for my medical request too. i hope everything ends well...good luck to us

yes its true academic IELTS also accepted by CIC INDIA. My friends send his academic IELTS result and got the visa.
don't worry it may work

i am all dressed now.. im going to submit my full docs, including the academic ielts result, to my agent/consultant. i will try and take a shot.. if my VO will require me to take the GT exam, then i will.. :) thanks everyone!! i will update u as soon as i got my medical request :)
