Collected our passports and CoPR from VFS Dubai today.

Though happy, I was very frustrated to see that my Visa and CoPR document were issued on the 9 Aug 2017, which is 8 days prior to dispatch. I am not sure why it took the VO over 1 week to updated the CIC account and dispatch the documents back. So much time wasted

Congrats !!! Is the visa end date exactly 1 year from the date of your medicals or a little bit after. Thanks

Our medicals were on the 28 April 2017, and the visa end date is 30 April 2018.

so quick update - I've requested temporary passport withdrawl online to VFS

if i dont get PP this week, will probably end up paying more in non refundable unused tickets than i did for the entire stupid process from start to end... oh well - lets hope it doesnt come down to that.

Did they say it's ok to withdraw passport for permanent residence applications?

This is ridiculous.. if we don't get this week, it would be terrible! No passport for a month!!! Who does that!!!

I tried emailing them twice, but they never responded.

They have mentioned in their automatic response that they won;t respond to queries asking for status of applications within normal timelines which apparently must be 1 month. assuming no one is getting responses.

Interestingly when I received my PPR I sent an email to them asking the process to pay RPRF (As mine is a weird case where I got PPR without paying RPRF) they replied within 3 days, However, they didn't help at all and just mentioned that my application is not with them (since I hadn;t sent my passport).

But it shows that they're able to get to e-mails within 3-4 working days and they just ignore e-mails asking for status. Not very professional though!!!

i dont care at this stage... i believe its OK - had 2-3 separate people confirm this... but even if it isnt, i'll just deal with it later... i'm just too tired of this charade.

There was a case a few pages earlier on this forum where someone requested passport withdrawal and surprisingly they processed his visa quickly and sent him back the passport with Visa and online status also updated to approved.

so a quick review on the thread pages it seems people got their updates on these dates 1/2 August , 8/9 August & 15/16 August which were Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Maybe this is the trend.

What can i do to speed up the process since i submitted via aramex

Looks like no matter how you have submitted your passport, there is nothing that can be done to speed up the process. They will just take their sweet time while we are stuck in different critical situations with desperate need of our passports. Very impressive!
