I just sent my passport yesterday through Aramex. The tracking shows it is still in transit- I guess it will reach there on Sunday.

Luckily mine were delivered to them on the same day as I had done an overnight delivery.

Hi all,

I have a scheduled holiday trip to the US in July and now that I have also received a PPR and submitted my passport for visa, I plan to make an entry into Canada during this trip. I this regard, I would appreciate if someone could shed some light on the following questions or share their own experience:

1. I plan to travel by road and cross the border through Buffalo.
(i) Can I rent a car in USA and take it to Canada and return it on my way back to US?
(ii) If yes, will I be able to do it on my UAE license (it's already in English and I have used it before to drive across in US)
2. Do I need to share the entire plan, especially that I will be there for just a few days and will be visiting the province that has nominated me (Saskatchewan), for a few days, with the border authorities in Canada?
2. In terms of Proof of Funds, I'll have to take a combination of cash and draft along with me to the US for further presentation in Canada. However, since I plan to make a quick trip to Canada, I will also have to bring the same amount back. But the issue is that if you visit USA while carrying money over USD 10,000, you have to declare it. As such declaration is not an issue but I will have to declare it 4 times, i.e. first while entering into USA, second time while exiting USA for Canada, third time while reentering USA and the fourth time when leaving USA after I finish my holiday trip.
3. I plan to reach Toronto first but then also visit SK for a few days and follow the "first things to do" list while I am there. Is there anything special that I need to plan or be aware of?
4. As for the PR card, I'm not sure if I'll get it within the few days I will be there for so is there a way to get it delivered to a friend or close relative and then later, they bring it for me?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I have a couple of questions. I received eAOR in march.
Now my current company in Dubai is getting my visa changed. I was working on its sister concern's company Visa. So the visa change is equivalent to a new job. I need to ask, if my current visa changes, and on papers, it is like I am joining a new company, then do I have to update CIC regarding this? If yes, then how and whats the procedure for that?
In this regard, I can also get a letter from my new company that it is not a job change and all (any custom letter for that matter). Is there some way, that I can skip all this hassle?

Also, I traveled this month out for about a week. Do we have to update CIC for that also?

Thanks
Varun

Hello,

I received my ppr on 15 June 2016 for me and my family and we reside in Dubai. My letter says that for those who needs visa to enter Canada have to submit thru vac and who do not need visa to enter they can send it to London.

Where will our passports go for the stamping.

Hi Kangaroo,

Firstly, Congratulations. Can you please share your timeline with us and the category you applied under as well?

With regards to your Passport submission, though I am not an expert on this, I would think that VFS would be the right way to go as they would know for a fact where it would need to be sent. CIC would also be aware of the Passports sent by VFS for visa stamping as they receive many for the same purpose. I would highly doubt that your Passport would be sent to London. If you are Visa Exempt, then you send it to LVO as it is written in the email you have received. If you are not Visa Exempt, send it to VFS in Dubai.

Is this helpful?

I am an Egyptian pharmacist that's currently residing and working in Bahrain. I was wondering if someone could advice me as I am quite concerned with the processing of my PR card. I have applied through the Federal Skilled Workers Immigration program.

My timeline is as follows:
Date on which I received my ITA: 26th of November 2015
Date on which I finalized and uploaded my documents and received my AOR: 9th of January 2016
Date on which I passed my medical tests: 17th of January 2016
Date on which I was asked to sign and upload a "Schedule A Declaration Background" and then I uploaded it on the same day: 18th of January 206
Date on which the CIC said that they had started on my "Background check: 24th of February 2016

And ever since then, I have not heard of or seen a single update? Should I be concerned or do I just have to wait? What's the average time for processing the PR? I await everyone's feedback. Thank you!
