Hello All,

I just had a question about Background Checks. My Spouse Visa application is being processed in Abu Dhabi. My wife is in Canada.

I have not been able to apply for my GCMS Notes so I'm not sure about my current status, except that the CIC Online status has reached to Medical Received on line 3.

I was born in 1983. I am from Pakistan but I was born and raised in Dubai. Starting 2007, I started facing employment issues due to the recession in those years. So from 2007 end to 2009 end, I had to make visits to my country which is Pakistan and apply for 3 Month Visit Visas to come back to Dubai every time, since I was not able to secure an employment visa for myself in that duration. Yes, it was that difficult and took that long. Each time I visited, I spent not more than 2 weeks to a month tops in Pakistan. I couldn't stay in Pakistan because my entire family was and still is in Dubai.

I believe you all know where this is heading. During my Background Checks, would this reason of my visits back and forth t Pakistan and Dubai between 2007 to 2009, have any impact of my situation or process times?

As far as I know, processing times for spousal visas take 2 years ..... you have a long road ahead of you, it is too soon for you to start stressing especially over details that no one can answer, background checks are done by many agencies and you can never be sure of what they are taking into consideration.

Regards,

Any PPR today?

Not for me .... still waiting....

Hi
When we get ppr do we have to take our passport to abu Dhabi ourselves or we can courier it. Any idea how long it takes then.

I think you have to send it via courier or vfs... no longer can hand deliver....and it takes 3 to 4 weeks..

I believe, first CPC-Ottawa process your application for eligibility check and then transfer to Abu Dhabi office further processing.

This what I understand from my GCMS notes!

They have send my file to Abu Dhabi after one month.

Bro i have almost same time line as yours.

i am PNP of AOR 16 Dec . File transferred to ADVO(found by gcms notes)

is there any movement of your BG check .. mine says not needed this time...

I am also PNP Shaz, no change, BG same as you :(

My File transferred on Jan 26 and I got GCMS generated Feb 22, from the notes no movement after the file transfer.

Just wait & see !!!

i think early-mid November applicants BG is changing to in progress.. so we have to wait for one more month just for our BG to b changed or if lucky to get ppr... ADVO is painfully slow.. never seen any visa office slow as of ADVO....

I got my PPR yesterday.

Have to send Passports to Abu Dhabi. Any idea whih is better/quicker? Aramex or VFS? In the PPR letter, it says I can visit the Embassy in Abu Dhabi, but only on Mondays and Wednesdays between 9:30 am and 11:00 am. Any idea if this is correct? I read on this forum that they don't accept personal visits anymore.
