ABU DHABI VO asked me to cancel Qatari RP!

Hi!

I have been asked by the Abu Dhabi Visa Office (ADVO) to cancel my Qatari RP and send my passport to Abu Dhabi for the PR to be stamped/affixed... and this would take them 10 working days... but once i cancel my Qatari RP, i get only 7 days to leave the country otherwise i will be deemed illegal and might risk getting blacklisted/arrested what not.. Has anyone faced this kind of situation? I need advise ASAP please... can i send them the passport with my cancelled Qatari RP from my home country maybe? Or can they waive the cancellation part? My wife is currently staying in Canada... and she will be there when i go to Canada inshah - Allah... Please advise...

Obviously, you are in the final stage! Congrats! We just started our application but I have been reading this forum for sometime. I think you really need to cancel your visa as they requested and it would be best for you to send it from your home country, anyway you need to provide them the return address when you send your passport.

Just send out a letter too explaining your situation...just also wait for reply from someone who has the real experience...if not call or email Abu Dhabi office...

thanks... ... i dun mind cancelling my RP... but i do mind staying in this country for more than 7 days after cancelling my RP... because then i will become illegal and could get legally prosecuted according to Qatari law... i am pretty sure the canadian embassy in abu dhabi won't want me to do something illegal... i have already sent an email to them explaining my situation and gave them two options... one, they can either waive the cancellation of my Qatari RP... OR 2, let me cancel and leave Qatar and send them the passport from my home country...
