Applied on April 3rd :) took 4 months
Did you apply online or paper based?

Any idea why UAE embassy is taking so long? Has anyone tried contacting/received a reply from them? I applied from Pakistan and am still waiting. Processing time has passed by three weeks. (13 weeks)
Does anyone know as how we can withdraw our applicatio?

Have you done "case-specific" enquiry on cic's website?
If so, what was the reply?

I made an online application from the state of Kuwait for study permit on June 2nd. Since then it has been 12 weeks come Thursday since my application and no response. I have also sent two case specific enquiries but as mentioned in the previous messages no response.
The only positive (I think it is a positive sign) was a request for medical exam on July 21st which I passed on August 2nd. It has begun to get very stressful and anxiety driven the whole situation. All I here is I must expect something soon. Even the CIC doesn't respond my phone calls with a proper reply.

Did you get to talk with an agent?

I did... but the agent wasn't from the embassy. I called CIC from an 1 800 number...

Preparing application for study permit- Travel visa refused before- help

Hello everyone,

I have a bachelor degree in computer science and have 5-6 years of experience working in IT field. I am currently an IT manager in a company in Dubai and manage a team of 14 people. I have applied for the travel visit visa to attend a big data training in Toronto which was paid by my company as part of career development. My visa was refused. I have been thinking about getting post diploma crrtificates for a while and I have decided to apply for project management in IT field program at Seneca college. I think this program can really help me in my career development. My question to you is due to the fact that my travel visa was refused for not having ties to the residing country is it more likely that my study permit will also be rejected? Or these two are completely unrelated?

Thank you

Visa was issued on the 16th of August! Recieved email on the 18th
A lot of congratulations may you have a great future ahead awaiting. I received an internal email today which said something like your application (XXXXXXXXXX) has been updated please sign in to see status and messages. When I did sign there was nothing different neither were there any messages awaiting for me. I applied my application online. Do you recall any of that happening with you recently?
