Hi, I have been accepted to a post-graduate degree at Seneca, while filling the application for the student VISA I have come with the next issue:

When I was 3 years old my parents took me to Canada because of the civil war problems in my country. They were denied to stay and tried to appeal for it. After two years of living there the whole family came back to my country. I have been living here for more than 20 years now and I am employed as an Electrical Engineer but would like to continue with a post-graduate degree so I can later have a chance with a Master's Degree in Engineering and develop myself professionally, I have current VISA for the US and have had for China before without any problems.

My question is, does my parent's visa application should be considered when in the VISA application asks if I had ever applied for VISA before and have stayed for more time?

Thanks a lot!

You may be asked to provide additional documents. In most cases, you and any family member coming to Canada with you will need a medical examination. You and any family member who is 18 or over may also need a security check. The visa office can assist you with these matters.

The visa office may ask to interview you as part of the process. If so, they will tell you when and where the interview will take place.

If your application is approved, you will receive a letter of introduction confirming the approval. This is not your study permit, but it is proof that your application has been approved. You will need to bring this letter to Canada with you in order to obtain your study permit upon entering.

Depending on your citizenship or where you live, you may also need a temporary resident visa to enter Canada. To check the requirements for a visa, and to find out how to apply,

New rules that will reduce the potential for fraud or misuse of the program while protecting Canada’s international reputation for high-quality education and improving services to genuine students will come into force on June 1, 2014. The new rules will:

limit the issuance of study permits to applicants who will be studying at a designated learning institution, including institutions that are designated by provinces and territories on the basis of meeting minimum standards;
require students to actively pursue their studies while in Canada; and
allow full-time international students enrolled at designated institutions in certain programs to work part time off campus and full time during scheduled school breaks without a work permit.

Thank you for your answer FaiziFm, however my question is if when parents apply for VISA for the whole family, does this later count as VISA application for their sons even if when they applied their sons were very young and underage and now as in my case I am an adult?

Thanks!
